A New Ignobility And The Hopium Of The Masses, Gracias Obama!
The dual loyalty of transnational oligarchy and the importance of antitrust enforcement for democracy.
If you say “Make America Great Again!” in liberal circles, you will quickly be rebuffed and bougie-splained that America was never great. Statistics of disparity will be predictably rattled off, which are indeed concerning. Who wants to be lectured at a party for a Democratic party that’s boring and weak.
We must move a good faith push forward asking: “Well then, in your estimation, when was America the most greatest?”
It rings true to me that it is a simple as being able to make ends meet working one full-time job, being able to own a home, and affording to have children if you want to? Until the vast majority of Americans can get together on bread-and-butter (and eggs) issues, our national conversation will continue churning in a sea of libtards and MAGAts.
The problem lies in who is ultimately to blame for the historic imbalance of power and wealth today. Many blame undocumented immigrants but not their traffickers. Many blame the breakdown of the family but not the variables that contribute to the breakdown of community in the “meatspace” (i.e. third spaces—those outside of the home and workplace).
After George Bush II ensnared us in two foreign wars while proclaiming “No Child Left Behind,” we find millennials afraid to have children because they can’t afford it. Many millennial women have avoided pregnancy so long that they are reaching the point of no return, likely needing IVF to get pregnant.
Thus, is it any wonder many Americans want to retreat from patrolling the Eastern Hemisphere, to claim territory to further enrich oligarchs, and focus on our own citizens? The bloat of the defense industry surely seems to have positioned the American military and foreign policy to be de facto mercenaries for the oligarchs, on the American taxpayer’s dime.
During the 2000s, the American media propagandized the public with breathless reports of the amazing things we were doing for Afghani girls, yet is it any wonder that opium flourished during the American occupation, coinciding with the growth of opioid addiction on the homefront?
It comes to bear that the American empire is not, in fact, “American.” The empire seeks to install the leaders of other countries and cultivate the indigenous bourgeoisie. Trump going tête-à-tête with Putin is preferable to continuing a proxy war with Russia that may lead to a rise in a new al-Qaeda-cum-mujahideen.
Whatever the terms of the ceasefire, the oligarchs will profit, but the poor men will stop being killed.
Correlation Isn’t Causation, Y’all!!!!
THEY SOLD THE AMERICAN PEOPLE OUT!
The Mis-Education of Capitol Hill
The veneer of how we have been educated post-WWII has cracked, and we have reached peak levels of oligarchic capitalism. The reality is that those who control the distribution routes control the world, whether that be by land (Panama Canal), the airwaves (mainstream media), or cyberspace (social media platforms).
It is refreshing that Trump would rather make real estate deals than deals with defense contractors. I could literally give a fuck about any contestation of this fact, notwithstanding Trump’s undying support for Israel. One hopes he is playing 5D chess. Wouldn’t it be delightful if Trump achieves peace in the Middle East, while Obama got the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009 before his first year as president but bailed out the banks his first MONTH in office.
If all you have is hopium - nothing changes.

President Barack Obama, accepting his Nobel Peace Prize, says all nations must follow standards on the use of force.
The president, who last week ordered 30,000 more troops into Afghanistan, says he reserves the right as commander in chief to act unilaterally to defend the U.S. But he also said he is convinced that sticking to standards strengthens the countries that follow them - and isolates and weakens those countries that don't.

Trump certainly disrupted the decorum of the WASP presidents, and it certainly feels like he is building a parallel celebrity nexus to counter mainstream media and Hollywood in setting the cultural temperature. When you pay attention to the ascendant alt-right personalities, you quickly note that not only is disagreement welcome, but they also produce long-form unscripted content. This creates a fitting climate for our first hyperreal president—an overt showman who doesn’t hide his worldview behind neutral language and niceties.
The neoliberals, and their mainstream media co-conspirators, were excellent at obfuscating legitimate criticisms of President Obama as rooted in racism. This sure sounds like the same playbook as today—where criticism of Israel slaps you in the face as an antisemite.
Meanwhile, the neocons were perfectly fine narrowing their attacks on Obama to largely cultural issues, while on the down low, policy decisions accelerated the historical wealth disparity we find ourselves in today. Many lauded Obamacare for prohibiting private insurance companies from denying coverage because of pre-existing conditions.
Well, now we all have the existential condition of unfettered oligarchs who are fine fomenting civil war because they rest easy—assured that no matter the coin flip they will win.
THEY SOLD THE AMERICAN PEOPLE OUT!
Not surprising, the youth of today may not understand how President Trump’s visibility as a political candidate due to his birtherism stance regarding Obama’s citizenship. While those attacks were labeled as racist, is it any wonder that voting for Trump and being disabled makes you a sellout? All the while the Republicans attack the “far left” for most of today’s ills, while both parties continue sending billions to Israel while their campaigns are funded by multinational corporate interests.
Take “liberal Hollywood,” which is largely silent about the Ukrainian invasion and a demanding Free Palestine, the same way the ascendent independent right media is vociferously anti-Zionist and neutral on Russian expansionism. The former upholds the USA’s cultural hegemony (while the American dream is dead); the latter conflates red-blooded American values with the oligarchs derived from the post-WW II power merger of transnational organized crime, a despotic intelligence community, and multinational corporations.
The gangsters are running the show, and if we can’t see Americans are in a two-front war, then we can’t see how others would willingly sow the seeds of our Civil War Redux.
Dual Loyalty: American Oligarchs As Traitors
Everyone knows that the rich and powerful have enough resources to secure their bag no matter which way the wind blows for the hoi polloi. Long before it was debated whether Elon Musk’s family were Nazis, the internet was abuzz in 2004 that George W’s grandfather, Prescott Bush, was a Nazi collaborator. In fact, he was the director of a firm that was involved with the financial architects of Nazism:
[Prescott Bush] worked for, Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH), acted as a US base for the German industrialist, Fritz Thyssen, who helped finance Hitler in the 1930s before falling out with him at the end of the decade. The Guardian has seen evidence that shows Bush was the director of the New York-based Union Banking Corporation (UBC) that represented Thyssen's US interests and he continued to work for the bank after America entered the war.
- The Guardian, September 25, 2004
These are facts despite the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) refuting these charges only nine months earlier.
So too, we see today the ADL stepping up to defend Elon Musk’s ‘Seig Heil’ at Trump’s inauguration. The backlash so swift that the ADL atypically backpedaled their defense of Elon. The Zionist contingent of our body politic cannot break too much with the current administration; otherwise, they may risk jeopardizing their genocidal project.
A persistent antisemitic trope is the accusation of “dual loyalty”:
“…antisemites alleges that the true allegiance of Jews is to their fellow Jews and that therefore Jewish people are inherently disloyal citizens and cannot be trusted. In casting the Jew as the other, this antisemitic trope, which has existed for thousands of years, has been used to scapegoat, harass, and vilify Jews, and at times has even led to murder.”
Yet, of all groups in society, has anyone betrayed the American people more than the transnational oligarchs?
Take the Koch brothers, who continued to do business with Russia after the 2022 invasion, propped up the astroturfed Tea Party movement, and championed Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ charter school.
There’s good reason for the oligarchs to encourage the lefties not to listen to conservatives like Josh Hawley and Matt Gaetz have to say—they just might get butterflies—the effects of which are cumulative. I know, I know, white men!
The Rise of a Millennial Rebel: Matt Gaetz’s Fight Against the Uniparty
Matt Gaetz gives off the vibe his preference would have been to be a lusted-after public figure, á la Brad Pitt, but resigned himself to be alternately outspoken and coy “Florida man of the people.” As a longstanding progressive, I have found it exceedingly challenging to convince any trad partisans to reassess their views of Gaetz. This article is an i…
Illiberal Democracy And A New Ignobility Against
What the illiberal left has failed to do is center the issues of the working class, quick to write-off every Trump voter as racist, sexist or homophobic. Meanwhile, a mafia princess like Nancy Pelosi continues to rule the party, while her savvy stock trades have become a cue for the public’s own investment decisions. Is feminism productive when its central issues for women are the right to not have children and who is a woman?
White women Democrats are quick to counter disabled and Latina voters who are pro-life. The same goes for liberals who casually dismissive of the Palestinian genocide because the Middle East’s LGBTQ+ population are not figuratively flaming out in public. Last week I was at a bar and a gay guy blamed muslims in Dearborn, MI, for Kamala’s loss. See how that play works!
Diversity has already won over the establishment right, argued to be a product of a principled meritocracy. Ultimately, if we want to reach the same ends, do the means matter if you’re not throwing anyone under an exploding Tesla? Besides the pre-election pageantry of the tech broligarchs defecting to Trump, numerous corporations unceremoniously rolled back their DEI policies faster than DOGE did for the federal workforce.
A mix of variables led to Elon Musk’s ascent in politics: lucrative federal government contracts, oligarchs who bankrolled his purchase of Twitter, Citizens United flooding campaigns with the objectives of monied interests, lack of tech innovation due to weak antitrust enforcement, and oh so much more. Some contend that Musk is doing penance to the feds for all his compromising entanglements with Russia and/or China, who knows?
Despite stereotypes, intragroup political beliefs are wildly diverse. The underlying motives of most Americans is the ability to make an honest living, take care of their families, and have some time for pleasure. What we have now across America is a plague of bad faith arguments, knee-jerk emotionality, hedonist escapism, conspicuous consumption, a lack of humor, and false idols who only wanna sell ya snake oil.
It is your job to work on your triggers if you can’t take a hit. Put on your big girl panties, and let’s chart new waters and take the oligarchy down together! The oligarchs need to pay for what they have done to us over the last 50 years—and preferably not with their lives.
